23rd November
On this day in 1823, Janos Bolyai wrote to his father, I have made such wonderful discoveries that I am myself lost in astonishment. He was referring to his discovery of non-Euclidean geometry that was published in 1833.

Quotation of the day
From Isaac Todhunter
