Romsey, Hampshire
Mathematical Gazetteer of the British Isles
In the south aisle of Romsey Abbey, is the grave of Sir William Petty (1623-1687), the political economist, one of the forerunners of the Royal Society at Oxford, a founder of the Royal Society and general polymath [1]. The grave has an superb life-size effigy of him.
