Youghal, Ireland
Mathematical Gazetteer of the British Isles
Raleigh lived at Myrtle Grove, Youghal, and was mayor of the town in 1588. He is reputed to have planted the first potatoes in Ireland at Youghal and the first cherry tree in Ireland (brought from the Canaries) at nearby Affane House. [1]
