Márk Antal was a mathematician who taught mainly in secondary schools. He lived in Cluj from 1920 when the city was Romanian and taught in his own home many Hungarians who lived in Cluj. His left-wing political views at times led him to high political office, and at other times forced him to flee from Hungary.
