Václav Hlavatý was a Czech mathematician who emigrated to the United States in 1948 after Czechoslovakia became a Communist country. He made major contributions to synthetic geometry, non-Euclidean geometry, classical differential geometry, the geometry of curved spaces, differential line geometry, relativity, and unified field theory.
