After Mr Allardice's paper, the members engaged in a conversation on the teaching of arithmetic. Nine of the members took part, and at the invitation of the chairman, two visitors (Mr Russell and Mr Gilmorn) also spoke. On the motion of Mr. Robert Robertson, the conversation, which had lasted an hour, was adjourned.
