Dr Horatio Scott Carslaw initiated a discussion on the teaching of elementary mathematics. He made special reference to the address on this subject by Professor Perry and others before the Glasgow meeting of the British Society. Most of the members present took part in this discussion. It was agreed to appoint a committee to draw up a set of resolutions indicating certain changes in the teaching of elementary mathematics. This committee consisted of:

It was decided to hold the next meeting in Glasgow.
