Professor Steggall expressed the pleasure felt by members of the society in the news that Professor Turnbull had been recommended by the Council of the Royal Society for election to a Fellowship.
On behalf of the society, Professor Steggall congratulated H W Turnbull on his recommendation by the Council of the Royal Society for election to a Fellowship.
Aitken's paper was followed by a discussion in which Dr Wisdom, of the St Andrews University, Department of Philosophy, took a leading part.
The meeting began at 5 p.m. and closed at 6.30 p.m.
