Bevan Braithwaite Baker becomes Bevan Braithwaite Bevan-Baker


The following announcement appeared in The London Gazette on 12 December 1947:

I, BEVAN BRAITHWAITE BEVAN-BAKER of The Reddings, Burleigh, Minchinhampton in the county of Gloucester a natural born British subject, heretofore called and known by the name of Bevan Braithwaite Baker hereby give public notice, that on the 25th day of November, 1947, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished and abandoned the use of my said surname of Baker and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of Bevan-Baker instead of the said name of Baker and I give further notice, that by a deed poll dated the 25th day of November, 1947, duly executed and attested, and enrolled in the Central Office of the Supreme Court on the 10th day of December, 1947, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of Baker and declared that I had assumed and adopted, and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of Bevan Braithwaite Bevan-Baker instead of Bevan Braithwaite Baker and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known and described by the name of Bevan Braithwaite Bevan-Baker exclusively. - Dated the 27th day of November, 1947.
