Alice Liddell (Mrs. Reginald Hargreaves) (1852 1934) lived at Cuffnells (now demolished). Her ashes are in the Hargreaves vault in the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels, outside the south transept. A recent plaque on the ground reads: The Grave of Mrs Reginald Hargreaves: the "Alice" in Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll)'s Alice in Wonderland.

In the Baptistry is a monument to two of her sons who were killed in World War I. There is another Hargreaves tomb in the Sanctuary. [1]; [2]; [3]

Cuffnells had mathematical tiles! - see under Lewes.
