George Parker Bidder (1805-1878) was born at Moretonhampstead [1]. The house was in New Street, now part of The Square, but it burned down in 1926. The site is now 11 The Square and was occupied by a deserted bank in 1997. The local history society has a leaflet on Bidder, but there were no copies on hand when I visited. Thanks to the local information office for information and pointing out the site.
