Running the MacTutor package on a modern Mac

You can (with a bit of effort) go back in time and run MacTutor on a modern Mac. You use a very clever application called SheepShaver to emulate the System 9 operating system.

Here is what to do.

Download the MacTutor package from my filespace by clicking on:

http://www-groups.mcs.st-andrews.ac.uk/~john/MacTutor.zip

Then go to the page:

https://jamesfriend.com.au/running-hypercard-stack-2014

and follow the instructions there.

Run System 9 and open the file "MacTutor index" inside the MacTutor folder.

Then you should be in business.

You might like to start with (say) Escher pictures inside the Group theory package or with Conformal mappings inside the Complex analysis package.
