Mathematicians Of The Day

7th September

On this day in 1954, Lee Lorch was summoned to appear before the House Committee on Un-American Activities and was asked whether he was a member of the Communist Party. He was later dismissed by Fisk University.

The postage stamp of one of today's mathematicians at THIS LINK was issued in 1949.
