Mathematicians Of The Day
2nd March
On this day in 1427, al-Kashi completed The Key to Arithmetic. The work was a major text intended to be used in teaching students in Samarkand, and in particular tried to give the necessary mathematics for those studying astronomy, surveying, architecture, accounting and trading.
